Meet Dr. Andrea Heckler, DMD, MSc(Ortho), FRCD(C)

Dr. Heckler was born and grew up in Montreal, and completed her dental training at McGill University. She graduated as the Valedictorian of her class, and also won awards in orthodontics and community involvement. After dental school, she completed a one year multidisciplinary residency program at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. There, she obtained further training in all aspects of dentistry, including treating patients with craniofacial anomalies, dental trauma, and medically-compromised patients.

Toronto had always been Dr. Heckler’s second home, as she grew up visiting her grandparents, aunt and uncle, cousins and friends in Toronto. After her residency training in Montreal, she pursued her specialty training in Orthodontics at the University of Toronto, completing an additional 3-year master’s degree specializing in Orthodontics. Dr. Heckler loves teaching, and is happy to make sure you understand your treatment, every step of the way.

Dr. Heckler strives to remain at the forefront of emerging technologies in orthodontics and attends frequent continued education courses, national meetings and orthodontic conventions every year. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity.

Providing customized and effective treatment that is as pain-free as possible is Dr. Heckler’s goal. She focuses on treating your individual needs, and is continually learning to improve your care. She has also taken continuing education courses in the diagnosis and management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and can incorporate TMD therapy into your treatment if needed.

Dr. Heckler and her husband Guy are thrilled to welcome their baby daughter Noa! They enjoy skiing, travelling, and spending time with family.
